Eastside Service Centre is a family owned workshop in East Devonport. Log book servicing, brakes, clutches, EFI, suspension and pre-purchase inspections, done by people who will tell you straight what your car needs.
The board on the wall
This is the list bolted to the workshop wall and signwritten down the side of the ute. Nothing more, nothing invented.
General mechanical work on the car, ute or wagon you actually drive. If it has stopped doing what it should, this is where it starts.
Scheduled servicing carried out to your vehicle's own log book intervals, new cars included.
Brake repairs and clutch work, from a pedal that has gone soft to a clutch that will not take up cleanly.
Machining of brake discs and drums in the workshop, so worn surfaces get trued up rather than simply replaced.
Electronic fuel injection servicing for engines that are running rough, hunting at idle or drinking more fuel than they used to.
Suspension work for cars that wander, crash over bumps or sit lower on one corner than the other.
Alignment to pull the steering straight again and stop tyres wearing out on one shoulder.
An inspection before you hand over money for a second hand car, so you find out what you are buying beforehand.
Not sure which of those your car needs? Ring the workshop and describe what it is doing. That is usually the quickest way to find out.

A small crew, which is why customers tend to know who worked on their car.
About the business
“We are a family owned business with exceptional customer service and we take pride in our work.”
Eastside Service Centre, in their own words
The workshop sits at 5 Young Street in East Devonport, a blue shed with the name across the front and the phone number underneath it. Inside, the work is the ordinary, unglamorous business of keeping cars on the road on the North West Coast: services, brakes, clutches, suspension, alignments, and the diagnostic work that comes before any of it.
What customers write about most often is not the mechanics of it. It is being fitted in when something went wrong, being kept in the loop, and having somebody walk them round the car and show them the actual problem. One reviewer, after a 200,000 kilometre service, called it one of the cleanest service centres she had seen.

“Todd helped me with my car even though I didn't have an appointment and he was working alone that day. He took the time to explain everything and show me what was wrong with my car. What started as a stressful day ended up being a good one. Thank you 🌸”

“Without an appointment I dropped in with a fused headlight on my way to Hobart. I was helped immediately though they were very busy. Helpful in a friendly professional way and the fee was reasonable. Worthwhile to visit this business! I took my car for it's 200,000 km service today. They were available on time when I dropped it off and also on time to collect. Thorough service and explanations were given. Professional and one of the cleanest service centres I have seen. I will visit them again.”
